YISS CHOIR: The Wizard of OZ Character Analysis

The Wizard Of Oz Reflection

The scarecrow seemed to be funny in the sense of his sense of humor. His sense of humor went to far in the sense that the over exaggerating and being sarcastic have made me rethink on his decisions, especially when he mentioned that he wanted nerves, but I think his role was too funny. But he did make a good decision to join the iron-alike man and Dorothy who are attempting to see the wizard for their rescue to go back home. I think his actions were wise in the sense that he was involved in the aid of the girl along the others toward the path of rescue, since the Dorothy encountered the tornado that caused her being in the island. In terms of his motivation, scraw crow had the motivation from seeing the Dorothy along the iron man and the lion, and had the desire to join them t see the wizard of oz. His effect on the lion and the girl were ones that inspired their sense of responsibility to be together in the middle of know-where, a lost island. The scraw behavior had also been inspiring since he believes that he doesn't have a brain, but end up being intelligent enough to comprehend good ideas, which had helped the journey with the woodman and cowardly lion. I think that the scarecrow had demonstrated the idea of being intelligence as a character quality being revealed through his sufficient practical ideas that helped during their journey for the reach to the wizard of oz. I have not encountered any specific words that are repetitive, but I have noticed the idea of the scarecrow not having a brain, and then went into the song of “If I only had a brain”. The song that he sung to the girl, that have shown how would he be without a brain, but in reality he does have the capability of a human rational to analyze practically. So I see this trend of human character qualities in addition to the human rational being that is being illustrated through animal-alike scenarios. The scarecrow cloth taken by the flying donkeys and his return to put on the scraw back on him, that reveals his desire for a brain, but his doubts have been a major factor in his reluctance toward self-confidence, that would of brought him great benefit to his character quality. But as the film progresses, I think the scarecrow realizes that he will be along the cowardly lion and woodman, as he realizes that along with Dorothy heading to meet the wizard of oz hoping to gain a brain. I think some key observations on the scarecrow is that he seems or may be acting as intelligent in directing his ideas for the journey for the wizard of oz reach, but his much doubts on himself seem clear to the film’s watcher that either he is mentally ill without a brain or he is acting as if he had lost his brain, so I was able to determine that based off my reactions for his own actions, simply because he seemed to act in an ignorant manner, but the reality is a factual reality.
