1950s Virtual tour

The cultural life of the 1950s have been characterized by the rise and seduction of popular fads, including pink Cadillac, rock-in roll, blue jazz, swag pants, music featuring the Mills Brothers, Frank Sinatra, and Johnnie Ra. As rock in roll became teens' top choice for such great entertainment, like Sam Cooke, James Brown. and Elvis Presley with a refined blue jazz sound of black music. Jazz emerged in its prominence including hard-pop and cool jazz. The 1950s era is characterized by all of the above popular fads that have benefited mainly teenagers in transforming their lives toward more of self-independent style, which had caused conflicting relationships between teens and parents. Since teens had desired and became so close to rock in roll that it would make most parents restrict their teens from listening to rock music or even in school, teens were not allowed to dress down or chat with girls on such topics of hanging out or dancing on rock jazz. That burden on teens have widened the conflict and teens had grew on their love on rock in roll since it became that symbol of freedom and joy.

The cultural life was relevant to the cold war, since the world in the aftermath of WWII had witnessed the post-communism fear, decolonization in Africa and south-east Asia, where nations in Africa and Asia had gained independence through major European powers, mainly United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Spain, and Germany. As the war in Korea intensified with American forces leading the way with allies in defending the south from the communist north. As American involvement in the 1950s had reflected the desire of the typical American to seek top priorities for the nation's security through implementing security measures to keep in the stability of Americans, as teens seek to adjust to their own lifestyles and families' flexibility to put more watch into their teens' lives.

The cultural life of the 1950s included such profound issues, such as the nuclear threats of post-communism states and the development of the first hydrogen bomb by the U.S with the first and dynamic nuclear test ever conducted on its soil. The nuclear matter had fueled regions around the world, mainly Europe, Asia, Soviet Union, and China, where all nations had been backed by powerful communist forces equipped with dangerous ranges capable of man-kind destruction. The nuclear race had been influential in modern days understanding and formulation of such nuclear safety standards and development of nuclear energy. Overlapping with the nuclear matter is the space race that has begun since the successful launch of the Soviet's Sputnik 1 that orbited the earth. The U.S had later established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to oversea exploration research, and development of space fleets. The correlation between Sputnik and NASA had deepened with the U.S more successful launches of such space vehicles and satellites. The economical and social ramifications would include the notion of brinkmanship that have enabled for modern's nuclear insecurity and trust among the developing world, industrialized one, and the emerged.

Cinderella Man Analysis

In the Cinderella Man, James Braddock had undergone hard hit times during the depression. Some of the depression items are the one that relate to the idea of the music performance at the Madison Square Garden where many unemployed are enjoying their times with the music to relive some of the emotional state of mind. The music during the Boxing match was one that aimed to fade the mind of the depressed American. It was similar to the "Grapes Of Wrath" that aimed to reveal the Oklahoma-ins lives on their struggles. The second aspect of the Depression items relate to the fact that the Public Emergency Relief Administration had lent Mr. James an amount of cash to finance is house's utility bill beside his boxing career. The administration as part of the New Deal Initiative didn't do enough to keep up the lending capacity, but the key lesson out of film is revealed through the fact that James had returned the owed cash of $363 and plus to the Relief Fund, that not only showed the character of James, it defines the American value of how someone's dignity/integrity comes to play despite a tough depression period, and it defines an American who is determined to the cause of his family unity as a value in itself.
The Third Aspect of the film is that the last changes to Americans expectations of having the president as the problem solve, as in this case, not everyone was trusting Hoover enough to get the industrial workers and farmers back into the work site, as some majority of workers with a family couldn't afford paying their utility bills, and some were well determined to do so, meanwhile, the other half were depressed about their life's standards. The fourth aspect of the film is that the rural and urban outlook of major cities seemed to be structured within the slums of the major cites. The film does reveal the fact that the 1930s majority of workers and their families are living in slums that are sufficient but not without the capital needed. James Braddock had been active in Boxing and that career has brought many offered contracts that he could sign to compete nationally for boxing championships Matches, that has motivated him to strive far enough to keep with his family's aspirations, especially for his kids, Rose, James, and Howard. When he was invited upon my his opponent to a party celebrating the Initiating of the fight, he took a piece of lamp with him for his kids and that reveals the fact that his job for Boxing is not enough to keep his family fed and pay utility. The fifth aspect of the film relates to the Big Business, particularly the wealthy investors who hire and sponsor the Boxing Matches that are well popular around in Square Madison Garden, where thousands of both wealthy and depressed workers/farmers come to enjoy the game's actions. Some of the examples include the fact that John Bull's house was luxurious with the Ceramic and concrete Apartment where he lives that reveals the widen gap of the wealth and the underclass men and women who strive foe a job. I think that the aspect of wealth is a positive one, because one's wealth can produce enough industries that can hire and employee workers who are unemployed. It is similar to today's Berkshire's Buffet corp where it employees more than 300,000 worldwide, and one of third are in-sourcing jobs, and in the 1930s, investors could of at least have taking a major role in job-creation to develop a certain industry, such as mining, steel, or public infrastructural one.

YISS CHOIR: The Wizard of OZ Character Analysis

The Wizard Of Oz Reflection

The scarecrow seemed to be funny in the sense of his sense of humor. His sense of humor went to far in the sense that the over exaggerating and being sarcastic have made me rethink on his decisions, especially when he mentioned that he wanted nerves, but I think his role was too funny. But he did make a good decision to join the iron-alike man and Dorothy who are attempting to see the wizard for their rescue to go back home. I think his actions were wise in the sense that he was involved in the aid of the girl along the others toward the path of rescue, since the Dorothy encountered the tornado that caused her being in the island. In terms of his motivation, scraw crow had the motivation from seeing the Dorothy along the iron man and the lion, and had the desire to join them t see the wizard of oz. His effect on the lion and the girl were ones that inspired their sense of responsibility to be together in the middle of know-where, a lost island. The scraw behavior had also been inspiring since he believes that he doesn't have a brain, but end up being intelligent enough to comprehend good ideas, which had helped the journey with the woodman and cowardly lion. I think that the scarecrow had demonstrated the idea of being intelligence as a character quality being revealed through his sufficient practical ideas that helped during their journey for the reach to the wizard of oz. I have not encountered any specific words that are repetitive, but I have noticed the idea of the scarecrow not having a brain, and then went into the song of “If I only had a brain”. The song that he sung to the girl, that have shown how would he be without a brain, but in reality he does have the capability of a human rational to analyze practically. So I see this trend of human character qualities in addition to the human rational being that is being illustrated through animal-alike scenarios. The scarecrow cloth taken by the flying donkeys and his return to put on the scraw back on him, that reveals his desire for a brain, but his doubts have been a major factor in his reluctance toward self-confidence, that would of brought him great benefit to his character quality. But as the film progresses, I think the scarecrow realizes that he will be along the cowardly lion and woodman, as he realizes that along with Dorothy heading to meet the wizard of oz hoping to gain a brain. I think some key observations on the scarecrow is that he seems or may be acting as intelligent in directing his ideas for the journey for the wizard of oz reach, but his much doubts on himself seem clear to the film’s watcher that either he is mentally ill without a brain or he is acting as if he had lost his brain, so I was able to determine that based off my reactions for his own actions, simply because he seemed to act in an ignorant manner, but the reality is a factual reality.

My American Expirences as a Russain Jew

My delightful and bless full American Experiences a s Russian Jew. I found myself that I had to come over here to America to get a taste of the opportunities that I know I might have my chance to get a job. I had to avoid the absolute rule of the Czar, who had resulted in the massacre of many Jews in Russia. I had to come to get a share of the American way of liberty, since back there in Russia, the practice of liberty and having such as occupation was very limited, due to the corrupt rule of authorities of taking few laborers and farmers, and excluding others who are looking for jobs, despite the fact that back there, there were some big businesses and industrialists, but seemed to benefit a few people, and discriminated the Jews by the practice of pogroms, which had caused major shortages of job and food. I came to America, because unlike, Russia, there were the freedom of religion and opportunities. I came to America, despite the fact that Jews were received differently compared to others so called powerful immigrants, I came through steerage steamship that took longer weeks in the Atlantic ocean. My experience entering America was getting exposed to the rising cities of New York, Pennsylvania, and Boston, in addition to inland cites that became diverse inner cities. As I would settle with a firm life style committed to my faith and background, it helped me to ease the issue of discrimination. With the restrictive covenants, it was hard to first see the good neighborhood, so it stated with the smaller neighborhood, similar to the conditions of slums for as the beginning. I had to be part of a large Jews immigrants coming form southern Russia to settle in either New york, Chicago, Boston, or Pennsylvania with a low paid job in factories and mines. I think after the taste of the experience, the American dream is without a question something that came to symbolize moral liberty and opportunities, despite the fact that the Jews were discriminated and lived in slums with low wages, they were exposed to the cities and their jobs helped later to evolve into new large industries that would reveal a good example of the intellectual and moral character of Jews within the American Dream, that is alive to us and all optimistic liberty seeking Jews.
